Advice on the proper use of Booster car seats

The first tip on the proper use of a booster car seat is to buy and use it. Seat belts in cars not satisfying a child of 4 years, even if it is high and robust.

The second tip is related to the above, make sure that your child is ready for a booster car seat. Some parents make mistake to his son in a seat reinforcement before it he is actually large enough as to use safely. Children must continue using the car with harness seat until it reaches 40 pounds, especially if the child tends to be active in the car. Children that have outgrown their car seats should ride in booster car until they are at least 8 years of age and 4 feet 9 inches tall.

How could know if your child is ready to move in a booster car seat? Do you sit on it and see if it is granted all the way back against the seat back. They should bend their knees on the edge of the seat cushion. The child's legs stand out straight and he can slouch or slide forward on the seat, if it is too small for the rocket. While he is still in the rocket, check the position of your car lap belt. It must cross the hips, not in the stomach and click on the top of the thighs. Shoulder belt must land on the shoulder, not his neck or the upper arm and cross the center of the chest. Shoulder and lap belts must be places where they should be.

The third tip is to check the rear seats of the car and buy car booster seats. If your rear seat has a low back, buy a model of high-back. This will provide your child with the support of head and neck in the case of a rear collision. If the backseat of your vehicles are high enough to support the head and neck, but are profoundly molded exactly a backless model fit better in the seat and be less likely to roll in comparison with a model of high-back.

Make sure that booster seat is in the right place. The safest place to most booster seat is in the Centre of the rear seat. This better protects the child from a side impact collision. Unfortunately, most cars do not have a belt shoulder from the Centre, only a lap belt. You should not rely on the lap belt to ensure a booster seat. If your car doesn't have a belt shoulder Center, it is more prudent to position the rocket on the right side of the rear seats. An advantage of this is that you can verify in child through mirror once that when he is directly behind you. You can always have installed shoulder belts if you car does not have a shoulder belt in the Centre of the rear seats and you want to place the rocket in there.
